FAMILY REUNION 2012

Hello All!!

We have a site for the 2012 Family Reunion!! We will be staying at Ruby's Inn near Bryce Canyon. You can google them if you want to get at look at the resort. Here's what we have reserved:

10 Hotel Rooms

5 Cabins (sleep 4)

4 Tee Pees (sleep 6)

7 RV Sites

& 25 Tent sites

We are arriving on Thursday, July 26th and leaving on Sunday, July 29th.

To book the hotel rooms, look at the attachment and book online. To book in the campground, call 1-435-834-5301 and ask for the Peterson/Perkins booking.

If hook-ups are not needed, we have reserved a group camping area. The price is a set price per night. It can accommodate 25 tents/ RV's/ or tent trailers. The more people we book, the smaller the price. And did I say that area has a pavilion?

Ruby's Inn will place a courtesy hold on these sites for two months. So Book now to get the best places!!

Pass the word onto your families! It will be great fun!! ( I do not have an e-mail address for Natasha, Jon Wes, Nikedra, Nicole, Caleb, BreeAnn, Chase, Brieanna, Zane, Jackson, or Marshall, and probably many more). Please pass the word onto them.)

We have a new addition on the Earl's side that I wanted to share with you. Erika and Craig had their second son last Saturday Aug 7 at 1:21PM.
Elijah Ute Jensen he was 6lbs 8oz and 19 inches long. We are excited to welcome this new little bundle. Erika and Craig are both doing well and are happy proud parents of two little boys.

This year for the reunion we are headed back to the beautiful Coast of Northern California. Who remembers the reunion of 1993 at beautiful Wages Creek? We had so much fun we are going back again.

The Campground (now called Westport KOA), has its own private beach, with a creek that runs through the campground into the ocean. There are RV sites, Tent sites, and two beach houses.

Guayaquil Ecuador

Today Vern and Evelyn left on a LDS Mission to the Guayaquil Ecuador Temple Mission. They will be serving for the next 18 months. We love them and wish them luck in all their endeavors.

7 lbs. 6 ozs. 20 1/2 " She had a bit of a rough start, 10 days in intensive care with pneumonia.

But is doing well now. She has grown and is now 9 lbs 5 ozs.
We have much to be thankful for.
Welcome Allyson we love you so much already.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to write a little update about what's going on in the Earl family. To make sure I don't miss anything I'm going to go down the list by kid if I do miss something, sorry...so here we go. :)

Byron and Jill- They just had the chance to take a two week vacation to go to Navuoo and had a great time. They rented a car with Mom and Dad (Vern and Evelyn) and drove the whole way there. Erika and Craig are doing good and really enjoying being new parents and Brienna and Greg are expecting their 2nd child.

Kari and David- They just had a chance to go to Yellowstone and had a really fun trip. They will be celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary this Aug.

Nancy and Gary- they just celebrated Gary's birthday by taking a trip to St. George. Alexis is doing great she has had a chance to visit her mission again and even have some of the people come out here. We had a little scare with Addi. The doctor found a piece of broken bone in his knee from his Acl injury so he had to come back to Utah for a surgery. He was here about a month until he was all healed up and had the chance to return to Argentina to finish out his mission. He is doing well.

Shelly and Nathan-They are currently living in Salt Lake. They moved up to help Nathan's parents remodel the house and get it ready to sell, they have rented out their house in Monticello and do travel back and forth to check on things and help with the wheat planting.

Denese and Loren- They are doing good as well, Denese just graduated from Weber State with her associates in radiology she has currently took the board and we haven't heard the results yet. Loren has enjoyed helping coach the boys basketball team again this last year.

Jason and Heather- they have moved back up to the Salt Lake area as well, they are both working full time and Heather is going to school.

Preston- He is still in Vernal working at the oil riggs, he really loves it there.

James and Kristene- We are doing good, we are trying to start a family and focusing on getting out of debt. James has also taken up bike riding and already has made a 50 mile ride that he is really proud of.

And last but certainly not least.....

Vern and Evelyn- They are also doing good. Dad is working hard on getting all the yard work finished and mom wants to go play at Lake Powell. :) They have also decided to go on another Mission. :D they have already talked to the bishop and hope to have their papers in at the end of the month and are hoping to leave the first of Oct. They will be spending their 50th wedding anniversary out in the mission field.

Remembering Dad today on his birthday. He would have been

101 years old today.

I have many fond memories of a man who was kind, gentle, honest,

generous, soft spoken, and very loving.

I'm so thankful that we had such a man for our father.

We are who we are because of him.

I look forward to seeing him again and meeting with a warm embrace

and probably, knowing our family, there will be tears. Tears of joy.

We had a great time in Zion Park today and are going out for Chinese food tonight.

Alexis Peterson came home from her mission on Nov 26th. We are so excited to have Lexi back and to hear all her wonderful experiences she had on her mission. She served in the New York, New York South Mission speaking Spanish. She gave her Homecoming talk this last Sunday. She talked about all the things she learned while out on her mission. She talked about how she had to let the Lord guide her and how his plan is better for us then our plans for us. Next she is planning on finding a job and getting ready for school in January. Until then she is just glad she is home and she's ready to start her next great adventure in life. We love you Lexi!!! Welcome Home!!!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to post that Erika had her baby. :) His name is Zachary Craig Jenson and he was born on Nov 18 at 4:06. He was 19 inches long and weighed 6 lbs 4 oz's. Both Erika and Zach are doing just fine. Erika is really excited to finally have her little guy...and to not be pregnant anymore. :p Her and little Zach will be able to go home today if he is able to pass all his tests. Congratulations to Erika and Craig!!! (Sorry the picture is so bad. I left the camera in the car so this was taken on my phone.)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Kari and David got married this past weekend on the 29th of August. It was a beautiful wedding. They got married at the Salt Lake temple around 10:00. After we had a luncheon at Gardner Village and later on the reception there as well. James and I as well as the rest of our family is so excited and happy for Kari and David. Here are some pictures of their happy day....

So here is something that was exciting in our family. Tiara turned 8 the week of the reunion and the next weekend she was baptised in Salem, Oregon.

Kudos to Aunt Kathryn for actually getting my parents to sit in the bobsled. :) Dad really got into it...then couldnt get out. :p

Hi Everyone,
Honestly, how much fun is this blog? What a kick!!! James, thank you for setting this up. You did such a great job on the pictures. Another big thanks Denise/Loren and Nancy/Gary for putting on such a great spread of food. My Wii Fit is definetly calling my name now!
This family reunion was awesome. My family and I had a great time visiting with all of you. We could not wait to see the movie clip of the skit. We laughed all over again!!! Kudos to Eveyln & Vern!
Needless to say, Sherry and I are excited about our next reunion. We started in on our California plans. I want to encourage everyone to start saving for the next family reunion in 2010. Where are we going to have it????? Stay tuned in to the Perkins Family Reunion Blog to find out!

What a Party!! Thank you to you Utah people. You did a fantastic job. The food was sooo good. The skits were so much better than ones on TV thanks to Evelyn and Vern and all who took part. What good sports you all were. Funny oh my gosh, I can't remember laughing so hard for sometime. Denise and Loran, you did one heck of a job and worked your fannies off. I know everyone all appreciated what you and your helpers did, I know I sure appreciated it. Was so fun seeing everyone again and watching the kids and teenagers. The ages from almost 8O to 3 months and all inbetween were there. I love all of you so much and am so proud of our FAMILY. Sooo, yes another family reunion missed. I really missed not being able to come and see my family. As I get older I find that the desire to connect to all my of family has increased significantly. Family for me gives a sense of belonging and a sense of being part of something bigger and better. I have reflected this weekend on how much you all mean to me and the comfort that families can really be together forever.
